The Marina
The 'Hervey Bay Marina' is just a ten minute walk or a short drive away, it serves as the launch site for those who have come to witness Hervey Bay's whales. From early August to late September each year, these majestic creatures visit the area to birth, recover, and teach their young, this is a tradition that has spanned generations. Renowned for their active and playful nature, the whales offer ample opportunities for observation by the many local operators with decades of experience and various fleet vessels catering to those with accessibility needs. Visitors can even opt to swim with the whales. Additionally, the nearby Boat Club provides an excellent evening out, featuring a cinema with discounted tickets (around $10 per person) that allows patrons to enjoy dinner and a movie in a fully licensed setting.

Spend your day beachside in Hervey Bay, where endless sandy beaches and the calm ocean await. Stroll, bike, or skate along the 17km pedestrian friendly esplanade, the flat terrain is dotted with cafes, parks, 'WetSide Water Park,' and the 'Seafront Oval' that frequently hosts festivals and activities. In this area, you'll also find the 'all abilities playground.' End your day with a sunset walk on the pier, greeting the friendly local fishermen.
